Breathtaking! Astonishing! Our God and Savior Jesus Christ is going to present us faultless before His presence with exceeding joy. What is that going to be like, when we are in the presence of the undiluted, undiminished glory of God. Such glory will outshine even that seen in the Mount of Transfiguration. Jesus tells us who keeps us from falling. “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand” (John 10:29).

Beloved, Jesus taught more about heaven than He did about earth, because it is only when we think about what awaits us in heaven, that we will be able to deal with the tribulations and trials of this life. Peter writes, “But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” (1 Peter 4:13).

The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 5:12, “Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted the prophets which were before you”. For all eternity we will be saying, “To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen”.

One of the most edifying disciplines in the Christian life is to sit still before the Lord and know that He is God. To bask in the reality of the fact that in Him we live, and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).

Right now, if possible, stop what you are doing. Read our meditation verses again. Read them and insert your name there. Let that future reality of His presence allow you to encounter the reality of His presence today. “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psalm 16:11).
