Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

A vital part of the kingdom of God is understanding that devils, or demonic forces of darkness, are cast out by The Spirit of God. The Lord Jesus said in Luke 11:20-22, “But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:

But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armor wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.” The devil is no match for The Spirit of God!

Jesus teaches us that casting out devils is part of the kingdom of God. Don’t analyze it. Don’t dispensationalize it. Take the words of Jesus at face value. Do demons and devils exist today? Thus, it is vital for every child of God to know that by the very same Spirit that operated in Christ and through Christ, dwells within them. Mark 16:17 reads, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils.” Note, casting out devils is for “them that believe”, not just apostles.

Remember these words that Jesus spoke to the 70 He sent out? “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:19,20) Casting out devils in The Name of Jesus is a power that is given to each and every citizen of the kingdom of God. We will not need this power in heaven, but we surely need it today. We ultimately rejoice because our names are written in heaven. But until we arrive home, we must understand that greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). Oh what a King, and what a kingdom we belong to! “Resist the devil and he will flee” (James 4:7). Glory be to God for His truth! Selah
