In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice. Prov 29.6

Sin is likened to something that traps a man. But before a man is trapped in a snare, he must first get lured in by the bait. Every good hunter or fisher knows that the bait on the hook or on the trap is what catches the fish or the animal. Likewise, the bait that the devil uses to trap people is temptation. Temptation is something that looks attractive and promises satisfaction and fulfillment, but it only produces bondage, emptiness and a snare.

Some sins can grip a person for years, decades. What was once an “innocent” pursuit of pleasure has turned into a life long habit that binds and produces guilt and shame. The devil wants you to think that there is no way out. You are trapped for the rest of your life.

Good news dear reader, Jesus Christ the Son of God came to not only free you of your sin debt, but of the snares and grips of sinful vices. Jesus said that He came to preach deliverance to the captives. Jesus is the sin Breaker, not the sin maker. There is no snare of sin that Jesus is unable to deliver you out of my friend. You do not need to stay in that trap one hour longer.

Cry out to Jesus, and ask Him for the power to break those chains. Jesus said have faith in God. Reach out to Him right now. He hears us when we cry out to Him with a broken and contrite heart. Selah.
