After forty years of wandering in the wilderness, Israel’s faithless generation had passed, and a new, obedient generation had established a beachhead in the Promised Land at Gilgal. The name Gilgal implies that their reproach had been rolled away. Likewise, when Jesus died at Golgotha and then rose from the grave, He rolled away our reproach. Like Joshua’s stone monument, the cross is our monument to God’s faithfulness. Please open your Bible to Joshua chapter four, and listen as Pastor Ben Hiwale completes his discussion of this chapter.
