1 Peter 1:18-21 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Everything that Jesus Christ did in His atoning sacrifice was done for us. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Jesus perfectly fulfilled the law of God for us. Jesus defeated the devil and every evil principality and power of darkness for us. All that He did was in perfect submission to the eternal will and purpose of God. Once a sinner places faith in Jesus Christ as the only means of being forgiven, and thus brought into fellowship with God, they become the recipients of every benefit of the atonement of Jesus. We are no longer dead in trespasses and sins “in Adam”; we are complete and alive “in Christ.” Too many of God’s people have an “in Christ” theology, but live out their lives with an “in Adam” mentality.

As we approach The Lord’s table this morning, we are exhorted by Jesus to remember Him as we drink the cup and eat the bread (Luke 22:19). Too often we forget what we should remember, and in the process, find ourselves under the law and bound by the lies of the devil. We do not deny the reality of sin’s consequences, or the daily battle against the world, the flesh and the devil. But praise be unto God that by grace, through faith in His Son Jesus Christ, we no longer fight for victory, but from victory, which has been given to us by Jesus Christ, The Lamb of God!! Selah
