It is significant to note that in the days of Hezekiah’s reformation (2 Chron 29:1-5), they began the cleansing of the house of the Lord in the inner part. Before there can be any pure work of God accomplished, our inner man must be cleansed.

Paul writes about cleansing ourselves “from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” James writes about cleansing our hands and purifying our hearts. Jesus tells us about certain things that proceed out of the heart that defile us, and from which we must be cleansed if we are going to be vessels fit for the Master’s use.

That cleansing comes by the washing of the water of God’s word, walking in the light, and confession and repentance of sin.

May we allow the Holy Ghost to do a thorough search in our hearts today and throughout the week. Listen to what God says to you. Even in those remote areas not visible to anyone else, seek His cleansing and you and I will “see” the Lord like never before!
