To “put on the new man” (Col 3:10,12-14) is the same as being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit is the One who sanctifies us in order that we may be vessels of honor, prepared for the Master’s use. Having been saved by grace through faith, we are now being separated unto God and His eternal purpose for our lives.

Sometimes we forget that we have been bought with a price, and we drift away from the Lord. We remain ‘active’ in the church, but we have lost that “agape” love for Jesus.

As we remember this morning the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, may we allow the Spirit of God to search our hearts and purge us of anything of the old life. And in doing this, let us “put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”
