Another calendar year has passed, along with all of it’s victories and tragedies. No doubt we’ve all experienced or witnessed many of the “times” declared in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. I do not think that anyone needs to have prophetic insight to say that the year 2019 will bring more of the same.

The comforting truth that followers of Jesus have is that we can stand firm in Jesus Christ. He is our unchanging Rock. May our New Year’s “Revelation” be a deeper desire to know Jesus Christ better. May we come to know His presence in our daily routines. May we learn to lean upon the Holy Spirit’s power both to will and do of His good pleasure.

Spiritual growth just doesn’t happen, saints. Set yourself daily, weekly, and monthly goals, and persevere in them. Purpose to be spiritually minded in everything you say and do. Determine to walk by faith and not by sight.

May each and every one of us number our days in this new year wisely and be ready at any moment to “launch” into glory to be with our Lord forever.
