This title comes from the question asked in Psalm 24:8,10. In our study this morning we see a description of the King of glory, the Lord Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:13-16). This description of Jesus in His glorified body is a revelation of Who He is presently.

One of the most edifying studies of Scripture is of those passages which reveal the character and nature of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). He is Emmanuel, which means, “God with us” (Matthew 1:23). As our perfect sin sacrifice, Jesus is the Lamb of God (John 1:29), our Passover Lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7). For sinners in need of divine representation before a holy God, the Lord Jesus is our Advocate (1 John 2:1). In fact, the only cure for the plague of sin which is common to all mankind is the Great Physician, the Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 2:17). In a world characterized by darkness (Matthew 4:16), Jesus is that Light (John 1:4-9, 8:12) which delivers us from the power of darkness and Satan (Acts 26:18).

Blessed be His Name! How excellent His Name is in all the earth (Psalm 8:1). “O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.” (Psalm 34:3) May this revelation of the Lord Jesus bring comfort to your soul. May the reality of Who He is right now as our Great High Priest (Hebrews 2:17, 4:14-16) put fresh boldness into your walk.

Yes the battle we are in is real (Ephesians 6:11-13), but in Christ Jesus, no matter what may come our way, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37). It is through Jesus Christ that we understand that our God is for us, not against us (Romans 8:31-33). It is Jesus who ever lives and makes intercession for each and every one of His children (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25). “…This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11) Maranatha, the Lord is coming (1 Corinthians 16:22b)!

Reader, do you know this King of Glory? Do you love the Lord Jesus and purpose to live for Him each and every day? Have you received Him into your heart as Lord (John 1:12; Romans 10:9)? If not, look to Him this morning and be saved (Isaiah 45:22).
