Today I’d like to speak to all the women and girls of all ages about the inestimable value of a godly woman in the home, in the church and in society in general (Ruth 3:11).

It should not be a surprise to any of us that a biblically literate, godly woman is rarely used as a role model on the television or movie screens these days. They usually portray seductively dressed women as action heroes or successful actresses or artists, who adhere to no moral absolutes at all. Having said that, it is not hard to see the need for the influence of a godly, Spirit-filled woman in the home, the work place, and in society. One of the doctrines that Paul told Pastor Titus to teach was the importance of older women in the church mentoring younger women to be godly mothers and homemakers (Titus 2:3-5).

The same principle of virtue and godliness holds true for younger or single sisters in Christ. Contrary to the propaganda of misinformed people, the gospel of Jesus Christ exalts, not diminishes, the worth and dignity of womanhood. Christ sets women free to be all that God created them to be.

The scriptures provide a portrait of a virtuous woman that is contrary to what we see in society (Proverbs 31:10-31). I thank God for the godly wife that He has blessed me with and the many godly women that He has put into my life. I thank God for the many godly women in this body of believers, old and young, married and single, who exude the love and beauty of Jesus Christ. Thank you for being a godly example of Jesus Christ to your children, to your church family, and above all, for the glory of God.
