Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Okay, I have to admit that I lured you to read this blog this morning with a somewhat controversial title. My message this morning is not about translations of the Bible. My message is about the kind of life that pleases God. When Enoch was translated into heaven, the testimony of his life was that he pleased God. To live to please God in a day and age when the mantra of unregenerate man was to live to please yourself was indeed remarkable. The same holds true today, beloved. The essence of pleasing self is selfishness. The essence of pleasing God is sacrifice. Jesus expressed this life of pleasing God when He said, “And He that sent Me is with Me: the Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.” (John 8:29).

Those who determine to please God are those who are aware of His presence with them. Living to please God is like being in the military. “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of [this] life; that he may please Him Who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” (2 Timothy 2:4).

May the translation of your life be that you are a person who lives to please God.
