In 2 Corinthians 2:1-11 this morning, Paul is concerned that the saints at Corinth are falling right into Satan’s hands by refusing to forgive the repentant individual who was a cause of great pain and harm to them. That concern of Paul is a valid concern for us today. Oftentimes Satan is able to accomplish his evil genius in the life of a believer or a congregation when we fail to recognize the ways that he works to steal, kill, and destroy the people of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

After pleading with them to lay to rest the bitterness and hostility towards this individual, Paul then launches into his warning about the reality of how the devil goes about seeking whom he may devour. Satan capitalizes on a situation whenever we make provision for our fleshly lusts and refuse to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God.

May The Holy Spirit grant to each one of us revelation knowledge of the ways the enemy may be seeking to disturb or destroy our fellowship with Jesus and one another.
