From a strictly human perspective, God made a serious ‘mistake’ by allowing the apostle Paul to be put in chains. However, man’s perspective and God’s perspective are not the same.
God doesn’t make mistakes because what He ordains and decrees will come to pass. The God whom we serve is able to turn what man means for evil into what is good. How vital it is for each of us to have that truth tucked away in our heart! Why? Because there will be those times in our lives when we may find ourselves in some sort of ‘prison.’
Jesus said, “Have faith in God.” He didn’t say to have faith in your faith. Nor did He say to have faith in your own understanding. He said to have faith in God. What happens when we trust the Lord in hard times or difficult circumstances? Our prison turns into a pulpit! That trust and courage in Jesus becomes contagious.
Yes, “we walk by faith and not by sight”, but at the same time, our faith enables us to see Him who is invisible. It is never a mistake to put our trust in the Lord. That’s the kind of faith that pleases God.
So turn your prison into praise. Look unto Jesus.
