The apostle Paul was being attacked by the foes of the gospel, and by the lukewarm saints in Galatia as well. What was the reason for him being the object of attack and ridicule? He spoke the truth (Galatians 4:16).
We are living in an age where truth is not a popular word any longer. Theologians and lukewarm expositors are buckling under the politically correct pressure of the liberal media. What the Bible calls “an abomination” (Leviticus 18:22), our fallen society and the “liberal” church call an “alternative lifestyle.” What the Bible calls sinful “works of the flesh” (Galatians 5:19-21), are nowadays labeled as sexual addiction or disease.
How the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4) succeeded in pulling the rug from beneath the feet of fallen man is a tragedy indeed. But even more tragic is when the professed saints of the Church of the Living God tosses their hearts in with these fallen, naturally-minded thinkers.
It is truth that makes us free, saints (John 8:31,32)! Our God is the God of truth (Deuteronomy 32:4). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth (John 16:13). The Holy Scriptures are the Word of truth (John 17:17). Precious family of God, may we embrace the truth of God with all of our hearts, and never seek to change it or redefine it.
“Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation” (Psalm 25:5). Lead us in Thy truth, Abba!
