After we believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. This coming to Jesus for salvation is through the conviction of the Holy Spirit, by whom we are then baptized into the body of Christ. We have this witness of the Spirit inside of us; that we are children of the living God. This living Spirit now directs our steps in ministry. He also orders our stops.
The Holy Spirit actively works to sanctify our lives that we might bear fruit to the glory of our Father. This awesome transformation taking place in our lives is the result of the Holy Spirit working in us, “both to will and do of His good pleasure.” (Rom 8:10,11) The Holy Spirit is working life in us, which is why we must be careful not to grieve Him.
Scripture emphasizes our relationship with God the Holy Spirit. May we hear His voice today, and in obedience to His lead, invite people to come to Jesus Christ. As we sow to the things of God’s Spirit, we will have the life and peace that reveal that we are indeed living epistles, “written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God.”
