The young body of saints in Thessalonica had endured severe persecution because of their faith in and loyalty to the Lord Jesus Christ. On top of that, their faith and hopes were attacked by false prophecies and spurious letters supposedly written by Paul.
Paul wrote a second epistle to them to calm their hearts and comfort their troubled minds. When our faith is being attacked or challenged, we can go to the Lord in prayer and find comfort in His Scriptures.
My flesh doesn’t like opposition or difficulty. I don’t do jumping-jacks when my faith is being stretched, or when it seems to have taken a long journey to a planet far away. But, “Blessed be the name of the LORD”, for He always provides the sustaining grace that I need to endure.
Having the right perspective helped the Thessalonians, and it will help you and me as well. So tune in, look up, for the Lord is still on His throne!
