The gospel of Jesus Christ is a revelation message. It is not a message of human origin. It is not a message that can be understood by the natural man. It’s origin and reception is via the revelation of God.
When the apostle Peter answered Jesus’ question, ‘Whom do you say that I am?’ ‘Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.’ (Matthew 16:15-17) In other words, Peter did not come to the conclusion that Jesus was The Christ via any human agency. It was given unto Him to believe by the grace of The Father.
This is a message that Paul drives home time and time again in this letter. His very calling into the ministry was not something that he decided. He was arch enemy number one against The Name of Jesus Christ. But by the grace of God, Paul, who in the course of history on earth was apprehended by Jesus on the Damascus Road, came to the revelation that ‘it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen’. Glorious grace! The very same individual who once persecuted the church was now preaching The Christ and His gospel that he once sought to destroy.
Will you join me in praying that The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give unto our church family the very spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him? There is no other way to know Jesus apart from revelation from above. Glory to God for His unspeakable gift of salvation.
