The revelation of the love of God towards us through Jesus Christ is a promise that is given to sustain us through the deepest and darkest times of our lives. The book of Revelation talks about this present age as the time of former things that will pass away (Revelation 21:4). Sorrow, pain, oppression, sickness, and death are some of the former things that will pass away when we enter into glory to be with our precious Lord forever. Some of the most powerful fiery darts of the enemy come when a believer in Jesus Christ is going through difficult times. When we are going through times of severe sickness, sadness, or tribulation, it is very easy to doubt the love of God. Knowing that, The Holy Spirit anoints Paul to write about the fiery dart quenching the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Troubled saint, let the word of God’s love for you speak for itself. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, ‘For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.’ Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35-39) Never doubt in darkness, what God has shown you in the light.
Amen.
