Psalm 97:1  The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

1 Chronicles 16:31  Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth  rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.

These 3 words, “The Lord reigns”, are the answer for the oft asked question, how can you possibly cope with all of the problems that we face in our modern society, be they global, ecclesiastical, or family? Because The Lord reigns, we know that all things work together for the good in our lives (Romans 8:28). For those who know the Hebrew language, the phrase, “The Lord reigns” is in the present tense. This means that right now, right here in this place and in your life, saints, The Lord reigns.

This is the song that we hear and see angels sing. The elders and saints in heaven sing it perpetually; we daily hear it. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, the Lord God omnipotent reigneth! He reigns in power, He reigns in grace, He reigns in His sovereignty, He reigns in the hearts of His people. One of the most neglected commands of God relates to this phrase, “The Lord reigns”, for our God tells His people to, “Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth.” (Psalm 96:10 ) “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isaiah 52:7)

Precious brothers and sisters, we are truly living in perilous times, but in the midst of chaos and confusion, the declaration of heaven is this: “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth!” (Revelation 19:6)
