2 Peter 3:11-13 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
We are living in a world where human depravity is escalating at a pace like never before in the history of man. Jesus said that when He returns, the actions of mankind would parallel the days of Noah, and those of Lot and Sodom and Gomorrah. You would have to be willfully blind to ignore that we are living in such times. As the prophet Isaiah said, men are calling good evil and evil good (Isaiah 5:20). At times it appears that the wicked are flourishing and the righteous are suffering. But there is a day coming when Jesus Christ will right every wrong and will forever rule and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 19:15,16).
On that day, Jesus will be revealed as The Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings (Malachi 4:2). Hallelujah! Until that day, you and I as His blood-bought bride are given the mandate to have our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:14-15). Just like the moon reflects the glory of the sun, we are called to be reflectors of the grace, mercy, and beauty of Jesus, The SON of righteousness. Praise God that Jesus Christ is yesterday, today and forever, the healer of men’s spirits, souls and bodies. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) Amen.
