Every age of the Church has characteristics that reflect the influence of the world instead of, or in place of, the influence of God’s Word. Our age is the age of secularizing, or redefining, Biblical terminology. A prime example of this is the redefining of the concept of marriage.
The Bible tells us that marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman. It is only in this context that sexual intimacy is undefiled.
To have a godly marriage, we must be submissive to one another in the fear of God, for if the Lord does not build the house, we labor in vain. It is significant that the same ingredients that God used to make the universe are necessary for building a godly home.
As we begin a series on marriage, may we seek to know the will of God, and then purpose to do the will of God. The Wonderful Counselor desires to make each and every marriage fruitful.
