Scripture tells us that God works all things after the counsel of His own will. In laymen’s terms, that means that our God is on His throne and in control of everything. When we couple the sovereignty of God with the nature of God, we find tremendous comfort.
Jesus said, “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father”. In other words, Jesus is the visible representation of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will. When we read about Jesus ministering on earth, He is ministering after the counsel of the Father who works all things together for good, including what man may mean for evil.
God’s counsel and pleasure shall stand forever. To walk with Jesus places us in the eternal winner’s circle. Words like “strong consolation”, “hope”, and “refuge” are in the vocabulary for those who walk after the counsel of His own will. Amen! Alleluia! For the Lord God Almighty reigns!
Lord, Jesus, reign in me!
