False teachers often resemble Balaam, whom the king of Midian hired to curse Israel. They falsely pose as spokesmen for God, and they often induce others to sin. Moreover, like Balaam, false teachers attempt to use their ministries as a means of self-enrichment. To avoid being deceived by them, we must be rooted and grounded in God’s word.
