Adversity is no stranger to any follower of Jesus Christ. Not only should we not be surprised by it, but we are told that it will be an inevitable part of our lives. By simply living the way God would have us live will result in persecution in some way, shape or form.
Light and darkness can never co-exist. Truth and error can never come to terms of peace. Those promoting and ardently following the world’s system hate Jesus because they love darkness rather than light. Since we follow Jesus, the light of this world, the world will hate our stand for Christ.
How are we to respond to those who oppose us? Jesus said with love. Despite the opposition, we are ambassadors for Jesus, and looking for Jesus. It is not always easy, but we endure as we ‘see’ Him who is invisible.
May we be faithful to Jesus and live for His glory!
