Our culture bombards us with messages that drive us to be consumed by external things. In contrast, God’s word repeatedly reminds us to guard our hearts diligently and to seek God’s kingdom first. While one cannot completely neglect personal appearance and hygiene, the most important thing to Jesus is the condition of our heart.
