At the time of Christ, salt was used as a preservative and as a flavoring in food. Eating salty food also creates thirst. Likewise, Christian’s should have a preserving influence in our culture, and ehance the quality of life for those around us. Christians should also create a thirst in others to know Jesus. Please open your Bible to Matthew chapter five, verse thirteen, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola begins his explanation of what it means to be the salt of the earth.
