I am reminded of the many places in Scripture where we are told to be zealous of good works. I’d like to pass along a brief reminder today in regards to the connection between good works and the glory of God. Jesus said in Mt 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Can you imagine a world without light? No colors. No sunrises. Nothing to see, only perpetual darkness. Jesus says that our world is just like that if we refuse to let His light shine through us. Just like the moon reflects the light of the sun, you and I are to reflect the light of God’s Son Jesus Christ.

The time that we spend in Jesus’ presence will supernaturally be reflected in our attitudes and actions. The purpose of our lights shining is not to draw attention to ourselves, but unto The Lord. Our good works in the Name of Jesus are meant to have an godly impact upon others that we come into contact with, and create a hunger and thirst for Jesus. Dear ones, make it your deepest intention today to speak the kind of words to others and and do the kind of things for others that will bring glory and honor of Abba.
