Paul’s desire was that his Lord Jesus would be magnified in his life, whether by life or death. When something is magnified it is enlarged. For Jesus to be enlarged in our lives, He must be given full control. For Jesus to have full control, we need to live unashamed lifestyles.
Just as Jesus is not ashamed to call us His brethren, we must never be ashamed of His gospel. Our understanding of Scripture allows us to be unashamed, because the seed of God’s Word builds our faith. As we grow in Christ, He works in us and through us in such a way that others glorify His name.
What a purpose for living – that Christ may be glorified in my life! To live for the glory of God means that our lives reflect the will of heaven here on earth. May we bless His glorious Name today in everything that we do.
“And let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified!’”
