Angered by the refusal of Zerubbabel and Jeshua to allow non-Jews to join in building the Temple, the Samaritans sought to stop the construction. They tried to discourage and frighten God’s people by bribing officials to lie about them to King Cyrus, who was funding the project. We battle a relentless enemy, but our God is greater. Though he can hinder God’s work, he can never prevent the accomplishment of God’s purposes. Please open your Bible to Ezra chapter four, verse four, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola continues his discussion of this chapter.
