Today’s passage contains a list of the names of those whom God had called by His grace out of Babylonian captivity to rebuild the city of Jerusalem. Interestingly, the Greek word for “church” is ecclesia, which means “the called out ones”. Like the returning exiles, we have been called out of the world of darkness to live for and to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Please open your Bible to Nehemiah chapter seven, verse three, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola continues his study of this chapter.
