Simon was a man, who once amazed people with his magic. After professing faith in Christ, he saw Peter and John imparting the power of the Holy Spirit to others by laying hands on them. Simon offered them money so that he could have this power, but Peter rebuked him sternly. He told him to repent of his sin and seek God’s mercy. Despite his apparent profession, Simon’s true desire was power, not Jesus, nor godliness. Please open your Bible to Acts chapter eight, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola completes his teaching on verses one through twenty-five.
