The writer to the Hebrews exhorts us to “hold fast the profession of our faith” (or “the confession of our hope”- NKJ) “without wavering,” the reason being that “He who promised is faithful.” Absolute trust in our Lord Jesus is the root of unwavering faith.
Like Abraham, we must focus on the object of our faith, the LORD God. Unstaggering faith is fully persuaded that what God has promised, He is able to perform. In and of ourselves, we are very easily moved; but when we walk in the certainty of God’s word, we are immovable.
Troubles and adversities are a part of life, but when we choose to trust the Lord during those times, the end result is a stronger and mature faith in Jesus. The victory that overcomes is through faith in Jesus Christ.
As we dwell on who the Lord is, peace like a river flows, regardless of the turmoil around us. God’s promised presence is a great comfort for such times as these. Unwavering faith conquers life’s Goliaths!
