Today we celebrate the resurrection of our glorious Lord Jesus from the dead. As we prepare our hearts to attend our local church celebrations today, how wonderful it is to know that Jesus is alive! When the women came to the tomb, not only was the stone rolled away and the doorway open; the tomb itself was empty. Oh rejoice today dear ones in The One Who rose from the dead, Jesus Christ. Not only did Jesus raise the dead, He Himself is The Resurrection and the life. Remember what Jesus said to Martha? John 11.25 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life.” Let those words of Jesus sink deep down into your heart, beloved. Our precious Lord and Master Jesus is alive. He not only IS the resurrection. He GIVES resurrection life to those who place their faith in Him.

No power in the universe could keep Jesus in that tomb. The paranoid, religious authorities thought they could seal Jesus inside that tomb. Matthew 27:63 “Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. 64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.”

How futile are the efforts of those who try to put a stop to the resurrection of Jesus. When theses very same religious frauds questioned Jesus authority to turn the tables of the money changers in the temple area, He publicly said to them, John 2:19 “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21 But he spake of the temple of his body.” And indeed, Jesus rose! Oh yes, He is risen!

It was not possible for the powers of death to hold Jesus in that grave. Acts 2.24 “Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.”

Romans 4.25 tells us that, Jesus was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. The entire Christian faith hinges upon the reality of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 15.1 “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

Glorious day indeed is this Resurrection Sunday. Jesus Christ is risen. Jesus Christ has ascended into glory. Jesus is alive. Praise Him! Adore Him! Go and tell the world that Jesus Christ has conquered sin and death and is Lord!! Hallelujah to The Risen King!!!
