Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. (1 Chronicles 16:8 KJV)

Good morning, dear ones. Summer is in full bloom. I am on vacation, enjoying the smell of the flowers and admiring God’s creation from the deck of our house. This verse was the verse of the day in one of my bible apps. There are three things in the passage for us to consider this morning and throughout the day.

Begin by giving thanks to The Lord every opportunity that you have today. Make much of Who Jesus is and what He has done for you. Thank Him for all of His blessings and benefits. Praise Him for His perfect sacrifice on the cross for our sin. Extol Him as King and Lord of your life. Be like the one leper whose voice of thanksgiving made him whole.

Secondly, call upon His Name. All day and throughout the day, talk to The Lord, both audibly and in the deep places of your souls. Talk to a Him about things that bug you, bless you, annoy you, tempt you….you get the idea. Talk to The Lord “as if” you are going on a walk with Him, because you are! This will develop the holy habit of sweet fellowship and is a great cure for daily anxiety and care.

Lastly, make His deeds known among the people. Look for any and every chance to testify of God’s goodness and faithfulness towards you. Talk freely and boldly about His mighty works recorded in Scripture. Oh, tell others about Jesus and His coming, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension and coming again.

These three gems of Scripture will help you keep a Godward focus in a hectic and man-centered world. Be blessed in The Lord today beloved. Be blessed.
