Though Herod persecuted the Church, by the end of today’s passage, God had showed Herod who was really in charge: An angel freed Peter from prison, and Herod died a gruesome death after accepting the people’s praise as a god. Ultimate victory and triumph over sin and death has been promised by God to those who trust in Christ. The Gospel helps us to make sense of things that we cannot otherwise understand. Please open your Bible to Acts twelve, verse eight, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola completes his discussion of this chapter.
