Chances are that many of you here this morning and reading this devotional do not feel like God is with you. Beloved, may I kindly say this to you. Do not let your feelings (for whatever reason) defy the truth of Holy Scripture. This name of Jesus is slowly becoming one of my personal favorites.

Right now dear ones, Jesus is with you. When you get in your car to drive home, Jesus is with you. I think you get the idea. A portion of Jesus’ last words to His disciples before His ascension into heaven was to tell His people that He would be with us always. The writer to the book of Hebrews tells us God will never leave us nor forsake us.

Emmanuel is a Strong and Mighty Tower, the righteous run into it and are safe. Emmanuel is hope to the hopeless. Strength to the weak and weary. Life to those who are dead in their trespasses and sin. The message of Christmas is that God stepped out of eternity into time in order to dwell among us, in order to die for our sins and give us eternal life. The babe in the manger became The Lamb on the cross. The Lamb who was buried rose from the dead and is coming again as King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s. Until He calls us home, Emmanuel promises to be with us always, because that is Who Jesus is!!
