Prayer is God’s prescribed way to deal with care or worry. Worry is a hindrance to one’s spiritual and mental health. Jesus Himself told His disciples that worry has no value at all.
Actually, to worry or be anxious about something is really a faith issue, because God has promised us His provision, His presence, and His grace.
Going to “Our Father” in prayer provides us the assurance that He is right there by our side. Read and meditate on Philippians 4:6-7. Let God the Holy Spirit truly speak to your heart about what those words mean.
Thank God for this gift of prayer! It is something that we can use anytime, anywhere, for any situation. Turn your cares into prayers.
Amen. Years ago Pastor Ben did a memorable teaching when he said “To worry is a sin…” You could hear a gasp from the saints present.
It is important to recognize, assess problems, pray, discern, and act in accordance to His will. But worry? A lack of trust in our Father is at the root of worry. I certainly catch myself doing it at times but try to put a stop to it and seek HIM.
Blessings,
