Ephesians 1:19-20 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.
God has given to believers in Jesus some astounding promises. Paul, filled with The Holy Ghost, tells the saved and sealed saints at Ephesus that the very same exceeding greatness and power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in them. This power of God not only dwells in us, but is constantly moving toward us.
Think about that for a moment this morning, beloved. Before The Holy Spirit tells them to walk in holiness and newness of life, and before He reminds them of the need to put on the whole armor of God because of the intense spiritual warfare that they will encounter as Christians, He tells them (and us), that by virtue of the victory of Jesus Christ over sin and death on our behalf, the power that is given unto us to walk in both holiness and victory is nothing less than the power that rose Christ from the dead!
Did He really say that? Read it again. Believe it. Remember, it is by faith, not human intellect, that we believe that God’s Word is true. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16) We will not need the power of God to walk in holiness or victory in spiritual warfare in heaven. We need it today, and it is available to whosoever believes it is. Selah
