1 Chron 29.9-12 Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, Lord God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
The people of God are seen here celebrating the dedication of the Temple of Solomon. There is excitement in the air! There is this sense of God’s majesty, honor, greatness and power. They acknowledge His sovereign rule over all. Beloved, our God reigns and rules over ALL. All circumstances, all Devils, all nations, all creatures. The Lord God omnipotent reigns.
Remember that as you observe Thanksgiving. No doubt, some of you are suffering physically, emotionally, relationally and financially. Know that Jesus cares for you and loves you deeply. Preach the gospel to yourself. Meditate on His promise that He is going to prepare a place for you. Meditate on His promise to never leave you nor forsake you. Praise Him for Who He is and what He has done for you. When we praise The Lord, we are not doing Him a favor, we are doing what we were created for!
Have a most blessed, God-exalting, Spirit-filled, Jesus-centered Thanksgiving. For The Lord Jesus IS The Reason for our being thankful.
Amen Pastor Ray! I Love the reminder that we are not doing Him a favor, we are doing what we were created for! I pray that i would never lose the grateful heart that I have for all the Lord has done, and is currently doing in my life. Thank you, Pastor Ray for another excellent reminder!
What an awesome scripture to meditate on today! As well as the words of encouragement! Happy Thanksgiving and God bless.
