Hebrews 2.11,12 For the One who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father.[fn] That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying: I will proclaim Your name to My brothers; I will sing hymns to You in the congregation. (HCSB)
What is God like? The answer? Look at Jesus. When Jesus says that He will proclaim Your Name to His children, He is saying that He is the perfect expression of the essence and nature of The Father. In the upper room, Jesus told His disciples, if you have seen Me, you have seen The Father. Every miracle of Jesus is The Father on display. Every recorded interaction between Jesus and hurting humanity is The Father on display. Putting a child on His lap and blessing them. Telling a woman who has been used and abused, I forgive you, go and forsake that lifestyle. The life of the wedding celebration! The One Who brings a funeral to a screeching halt by raising the dead!
Life is messy at times. Unpredictable and often a mystery. Yet, Jesus is still the same. The heavens may be rolled up like a garment, but Jesus holds the universe together. Discouraged? Look to Jesus. Depressed and overwhelmed? Look to Jesus. Blessed? Look to Jesus. For Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of His nature. Be still and know, that He is God.
