Psalm 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
When I was on the Internet recently there was a site that listed the best places to live in America. I do not recall the name of the site, but it listed all of the perks of living in these various communities. There were facts about the weather, employment opportunities, educational systems and ratings, etc. A key factor was the cost of living and housing.
Truth be told, no matter where a person lives on this planet, life is going to present them with the many challenges and needs that happen to all people. Those “best places to live” have hospitals, funeral parlors, jails, drug and alcohol problems, etc. So where is the best place for a person to dwell or choose as home on earth? The answer? Psalm 91:1. You could call this God’s 9-1-1.
It has been said that life is fragile, handle with prayer. How true! To dwell in the secret place of The Almighty means to dwell in the sweet presence of The Lord. The Song of Songs says, “As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under His shadow with great delight, and His fruit was sweet to my taste.” (Song 2:3) To dwell in the secret place of The Almighty means that there will be times when you need to run to Him because of trouble. The Psalmist said, “For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.” (Psalm 27:5)
All things on this earth are subject to change. Your health, your finances, your relationships can change seemingly overnight. Therefore, regardless of where you live on this planet, beloved, make sure that your real dwelling place is the secret place of The Almighty. Dwell in fellowship with Jesus Christ each and every day.
