Philippians 1.6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
In Nehemiah 4, the adversaries of the Jews looked at their work and mocked it as feeble. Often when the world looks at the church, it sees the imperfection, the faults, the sins, and its “rubble,” but fails to see and understand that it is a work in progress.
Remember, beloved, that we are not in heaven yet. Then, and only then will we be perfect and sinless. This side of heaven, we are positionally complete and perfect in Christ Jesus. But, experientially, we are sinners who posses an entity called the flesh, out of which comes no good thing.
God is working in your life right now, dear ones. He is The Master Carpenter Who is carving out the circumstances and situations in our lives. Paul tells us that it is God Who is at work in us, both to will and to do of His good pleasure, the Same One Who began the good work of redemption in you. So as your day unfolds, take a step back and ask The Lord to show you what this appointment or this delay is all about. Never forget that God is working, despite what you are seeing or feeling to the contrary. Christ came to destroy the works of the devil, not you. His work may be one of correction. It may be one of conviction. It may be a work of faith and patience. Whatever the case may be, do not kick against the goads of divine providence. Who hath hardened his heart against The Lord and prospered?
Our lives are like the seasons of weather, but God is The One Who controls the weather. Abide in Jesus. Hold on to the hem of His garment. Pray without ceasing. Walk by faith and not by sight. And when the adversary condemns you for doing or saying something stupid, remember this, you’re not in heaven, but you are complete in Christ Jesus. Confess the sin or rebuke the enemy in Jesus Name and move on…..God is working!
