Ephesians 5.15,16 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Imagine that someone gives you a bucket of water, and tells you that you have to make that last for one month. Are you going to be careless in how you use the water? Probably not, unless you are a fool. Now with that picture in your mind think about time. God is going to give to you a measured amount of time to live on planet earth. How are you going to spend it? Or, let me back up a bit and rephrase that question this way. How are you spending it?
Are you redeeming the time that God gives you for the most precious and worthwhile things, or for things of no real worth or value.
Is your use of time more Vertical and Godward, or more horizontal and self centered? A wise man would use each drop of water wisely. A foolish person would use each drop of water foolishly. May we use the measured amount of time given unto us in such a way that God is most glorified and much is made of His Name. Selah
