Revelation 21.4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things.
I am writing this at 36,000 feet, en route from Pune to Frankfurt, and hopefully home. In the midst of 3 weeks of conferences and intense bible study time with our KSOM students, reports flooded into India about the terrorist attacks that killed scores of people in Paris. Sadness, prayer and fears spread like wildfire in this nation, because many Muslims call India home. Pain and sorrow are universal emotions, whether one lives in India or France.
During this ordeal in Paris, pastors from big cities and rural villages gathered to worship The Lord and hear the teaching of The Word. The urgency of getting the gospel out was even more evident in light of current events. It was also during this trip that a beloved pastor/bible teacher went home to be with Jesus. I stood at his gravesite and saw the tears flow from his wife, son, family and friends. I thought, when will all this end? Nobody knows when, but we have the promise of God that it will.
Jesus Christ is both the gospel and only hope for mankind. When He returns, these former things will pass away. Until then, weep with those who weep, and rejoice with those who rejoice. Share the good news. That is Christ like gospel living.
