How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! (Isaiah 52:7 KJV)
Part of the armor of God is that our feet be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Paul writes, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Beloved, God is sending you and I forth today with glad tidings and a message of peace. The gospel is not only the message of salvation and forgiveness of sin. The gospel is the message that God reigns! Praise Him!
Beloved, wherever your feet take you today today, God reigns. There is no such thing as a place where God does not reign. In the fiercest of enemy territory, God reigns. In the darkest moment of despair, God reigns. That’s the gospel, dear ones. God cannot be defeated or overpowered, for it it is by Him that the universe is upheld and consists. Yes, the gospel is a message of peace, for Jesus Christ is The Prince of Peace. But the gospel is also a message to a world that is morally and spiritually upside down and decayed that our God reigns. Psalms 97:1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad [thereof].
Tell yourself the gospel this morning, beloved. Know this dear child of God, if you have turned solely to Christ for the salvation of your soul, and are walking to please Him and glorify His Name, no matter what your circumstances, The Lord God is reigning in your life! The devil doesn’t have ultimate power. Mankind doesn’t have ultimate power. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Because Jesus is alive and reigns, we can proclaim His mighty gospel with live with confidence in His power.
