Isaiah 26.3,4 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.
What a glorious promise! Perfect peace in an imperfect world. This perfect peace is not for everybody. It is only for those that trust in The Lord Jehovah. The key to the peace that passes understanding is faith in God. Faith in God at all times and for all things. Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, says the Proverb. Such a simple promise, but so difficult in light of the constant changes and challenges of life.
As your day unfolds, you are going to be confronted with many situations that may cause you to become anxious or angry. That is life in a fallen world. That is the natural mans reaction to difficulty or disappointment. But at that moment of emotion, you can choose to respond by looking to The Lord Jehovah. That does not mean that bad things stop or everything that is discouraging just vanishes. It means that you are looking to Him for the wisdom, grace, comfort or direction needed for that particular situation. Trusting The Lord is the only source of peace in this world. Anything and everything that we look to for peace is subject to change. Our health, our relationships, our finances or our friends.
Beloved, Jesus said have faith in God. Fill your mind with Scripture. Pray about everything. Look for the invisible hand of providence at work in your life. He will keep you in perfect peace. That’s a promise. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. Trust in Jesus today.
Definitely needed this this morning. Not only a big comedy(?) of errors before starting the trip but a negative comment about my faith too. Thank God that I read this important reminder. Absolutely God ‘s perfect timing. Praise the Lord and thank you Pastor Ray for being His faithful messenger.
