Rom 5.1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
What a wonderful truth we have in our text this morning. We are justified by faith and have peace with God through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Once again we see that the totality of our salvation lies completely upon the merits of Jesus. Every human being longs for peace in their soul. The kind of peace that is superior to the kind that is sought after in this world. The peace that comes from God is not found in material things, but in The Messiah Jesus, Who is The Prince of Peace.
In a world that is constantly bombarding us with it’s messages of “needing” this or that to have a peaceful life, for those of us who are the “have nots” of society, we need to Remind ourselves that true peace is only in Christ. Likewise, Because we are sinners by nature and choice, we are so prone to “work things out” between us and God. Of course, this is an exercise of futility. Good news, dear ones. You and I who have dropped our weapons of warfare against God, and have bowed the knee to the Lordship of Jesus Christ have peace with God. An everlasting peace. Jesus told the apostles in the upper room, “peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Oh what comfort those words of Jesus give in this world of constant tension and uncertainty. The Cure for a troubled soul is Jesus Christ. For it is only in Jesus that you and I find peace, dear ones. Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always, by all means. The Lord [be] with you all.
May the reality of your peace with God through Jesus Christ fill your hearts and minds with the peace of God today.
