Psalm 113.5,6 Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,
Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!
God promises to keep those in perfect peace whose minds are stayed, or fixed on Him. One of the most necessary disciplines in the Christian life is our thought life. One of the most profitable, if not the most profitable discipline is to meditate upon the greatness and majesty of our God. The Living God is not a cosmic force or divine energy. He is The Living Creator and Lord of heaven and earth. He dwells on high and beholds the activities here on earth.
For the twice born sinner, our faith declares “who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? [who] among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? O LORD God of hosts, who [is] a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?” Beloved, filter your cares, fears and needs through those truths about our God!
This IS Who He is to you this morning, beloved. Your God is not “the force” of Star Wars or the “higher power” of man centered dependency programs. No, a thousand times no! Your God is not a what, but a Who. “Who [is] like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who [is] like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful [in] praises, doing wonders?”
Behold your God this morning. Glorious in holiness. Fearful in praises. Doing wonders right at this very moment in your life. “To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.” Dear ones, it is this God in Whom we live and move and have our being. Think about Him Who loves you and died for you. May Who God is dispel all your fears and cares today.
