Genesis 17.1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Jesus is The Vine. We are the branches. All of our life’s needs and desires are met in Him and are given to us through Him. God Almighty told Abraham to “walk before”. With Him. That is the sum of our faith, practically speaking. Walking in sweet fellowship with Jesus, moment by moment. Breathing in the very wonder of newness of life. Creatures that we are, we encounter seasons of life. Slumps in our circumstances or feelings. The tendency is to look for something isn’t that will give unto us that sense of “feeling alive again,” I have even heard people say that’s change of theology has given them new life. Really?
Change, in and of itself, does not draw anybody closer to The Almighty. It may lessen some of life’s tension or ease the pain of sorrow. But change itself does not have rejuvenating power, only God does. Abide in Jesus today, loved ones. Listen to His Word. Embrace His presence.
Ezekiel walked in such fellowship with God that he could relate sounds to His voice. And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host.
God does indeed use change to awaken us to our ever changing mortal and moveable affections and desires. But He ultimately desires that we find our all in Him. Walk with The Lord today. Take Him shopping with you. Take Him to class with you. Take Him to the doctors appointment with you. The grass gets no greener than life with Jesus. Selah
Blessings to you Pastor Ray! Your Words are always pointing us to Jesus. Peace.
