Joshua 1.8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
God is not opposed to us being successful, provided that our definition of success aligns with His Word and will. A person may be famous, wealthy and extremely intelligent and yet be a complete failure in the eyes of God. Herein is the key, dear ones. In whose eyes do you want to be a success? In the eyes of man, or in the eyes of God? To be a success in the eyes of man, you must often play according to the “ways of the world.” To be a success in the eyes of God, you must seek to please only Him.
Please note that being a success in the eyes of God cannot be separated from being a person who reads, meditate so and applies the truth of God to every area of ones life. According to Psalm 1.1-3, to be a success in the eyes of God, you must do something’s that are negative as well as meditate upon the things of God.
Beloved, God’s perfect will for each one of us is to be a success. Not famous. Not wealthy. A success in the sense that our lives know of only one will to be done, and that one will is His. Do not believe the world’s definition of success, for it is shortsighted, temporal and vain. Only those who love and live God for the will of God are a success in the eyes of God. May our gracious Father pour out His strong Spirit upon us today, in order that we, through the power of His might, might seek to live out the truth and precepts of God for His glory and honor. I guess I could sum up what it means to be a success in God’s eyes this way. Seek to be faithful to Jesus in all that you do today.
